Physical properties of silicone rubber material
1. High temperature resistance:
The most remarkable characteristics of silica gel are high temperature stability and can be used for a long time in the environment of 250 °C - 300 °C. If you choose the right silicone filler and silica gel high temperature additive, the application temperature can be as high as 375 ° C, and can withstand thousands of degrees of high temperature. According to estimates, silica gel has a service life of up to 20 years at 120 ° C and up to 5 years at 150 ° C, which is not easy to age.
2. Low temperature resistance:
Silica gel has inherent low temperature elasticity. Natural rubber or other synthetic rubber has a lower embrittlement point, and silica gel can generally work normally at a low temperature of -50 ° C to -60 ° C. 3. Breathability: The silicone film has good gas permeability. The air permeability of air, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and other gases at room temperature is 30-50 times higher than that of natural rubber.
4. Electrical performance:
Silicone has outstanding electrical properties. The outstanding advantages are that the dielectric strength, power factor and insulation properties are very small due to changes in temperature and frequency, over a wide temperature range; the dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent are almost constant. The corona resistance and arc resistance of silica gel are also very good. 5. Excellent physical and mechanical properties:

Although the mechanical properties of silica gel at room temperature are lower than those of general-purpose rubber, its mechanical properties are far superior to those of general-purpose rubber at 150 ° C. The shrinkage of silica gel is 7%-10%, and the mechanical properties are unchanged.
6. Weather resistance:
Silica gel has excellent resistance to oxygen, ozone and UV radiation. It has long been used outdoors without cracking.
7. Physiological inertia:
Silicone itself is inert to humans, it is odorless, tasteless and non-toxic. In addition, silica gel also has low surface activity and low temperature absorption properties.
8. Chemical resistance:
Generally speaking, silica gel has good chemical resistance, fuel oil and oil resistance. The effect of the solvent on the silica gel is mainly soaring and softening, and most of the original properties of the silica gel are restored once the solvent evaporates. The tolerance to polar and edible oils such as ethanol and fluorenone is quite good, the mechanical properties are not lowered at all, and the tolerance to low concentrations of acids, bases and salts is good. (If immersed in 10% sulfuric acid at room temperature for 7 days, the volume and weight change are less than 1%, the mechanical properties are unchanged), but it is not resistant to concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated alkali and carbon tetrachloride, toluene and other non-polar solvents.
