What is the difference between TPE and TPEE ?

  When talking to customers often about TPEE, customers often hear TPE and understand TPEE. There are often customers who ask what is the difference between TPEE and TPE, then the author summarizes the difference between TPE and TPEE?

First of all, TPE has such a meaning, that is, a general term for all thermoplastic elastomers, including TPR, TPU, TPV, TPEE, TPO, TPAE, and the like. Chinese is called Thermo-Plastic Elastomer. Due to historical and usage habits, there is no uniform naming of thermoplastic elastomers at home and abroad. Most regions are accustomed to the thermoplastic abbreviation TPE. There is also a saying that TPE is a general term for thermoplastic elastomers, TPU is a thermoplastic polyurethane, TPV vulcanized thermoplastic elastomer, TPR is generally considered to be a thermoplastic rubber, based on SBS.


TPE characteristics: high elasticity of rubber, high strength, high resilience, injection molding processing, environmental protection, non-toxic safety, wide hardness range, excellent coloration, soft touch, weather resistance, fatigue resistance and It has excellent temperature resistance, excellent processing performance, no need for vulcanization, and can be recycled for cost reduction. It can be over-molded and coated with PP, PE, PC, PS, ABS and other base materials, or it can be molded separately.

TPEE characteristics: rubber elastic and engineering plastic strength; soft satin gives it elasticity to make it like rubber; hard segment gives it processing properties, making it like plastic; it has better processing properties and longer than rubber Service life; compared with engineering materials, it also has high strength characteristics, and flexibility and dynamic mechanical properties are better. TPEE hardness can be from Shore 30-82D, its elasticity and strength between rubber and plastic.
