A.   General items


1. Does mold base standard meet tooling spec sheet?


2. Does mold component standard meet tooling spec sheet?


3. Does steel meet tooling spec sheet?


4. Is the drawing frame according to format?


5. Is final plastics part name and part number   with index shown? 



6. Is lastest part print with mold drawing?


7. Is plastics material shown? 


8. Is shrinkage rate correct? 


9. Is BOM correct and complete? 


10. Is "TOP" shown on the mold? 


11. Will mold size fit in the machine for which it   was designed? 



12. Are guide bushings specified for all guide   pins,steel,graphite bushing,or others?



13. Are eyebolt holes shown in proper location and   size specified?


14. Is the parting line locked sufficiently to  prevent slippage and deflection of cavities?    



15. Is mold easy to be assembled/disassembled? 


16. Are  stop pins shown? 


17. Are pry bar slots shown? 


18. Are moldplates strong enough? 


19. Are there sufficient support pillars?


20. Is mold designed with adequate radii wherever   possible? 


21. Is cycle counter shown?


22. Are mold feet necessary to protect the mold?


23. Are safety strap adequate? Minimum of 2. 


24. Is there an adequate lift hook on center of balance?






B.   Cavity and Core 


1. Is parting line accepted by customer?


2. Is there enough release angle for shut-off surface? 


3. Is there different steel selection for shu-off   condition,sub-insert and moving component? 



3. Are there sufficient steel surrounding cavity and core? 


4. Is there sufficient functionl dimension? 


5. Are cores and cavities held suitably to prevent   shifting and rotation?  



6. Are all the part engraving information shown?  
     



7. Are critical inserts and core pins accessible  without disassembling mold? 







C.   Hot runner


1.  Hot runner brand and   model type?


2. Is there a layout of the hot runner and wiring   diagram? 


3. Is insulation plate incorporated?


4. Is hot runner easy and safe to assemble/disasemble?






 D. Gate and runner system


1. Is the sprue bushing keyed and located  properly?


2. Do sprue radius and location ring diameter   match machine? 



3. Is balanced gating possible? 


4. Are gate and runner size shown with detail view? 


5. Is gate location reasonable?  






E.   Demolding 


1. Will runner drop free and clear stripper bolts  on a 3 plate mold?


2. Are leader pin long enough to protrude 10  minimum beyond floating plate when open for 3 plate Mold? 


2. Are provisions made to return ejector plate   before mold close where there are ejector pins under side core pulls?


3. Are KO holes located properly for the molding   machine? 



4. Are ejector pins stepped if the diameter is less than 2.0 mm? 


5. If part is sub-gated is there an ejector pin  near the gate?



6. Is part clear of return pins?


7. Is the ejector plate guided by guide pins and   bushings? 


8. Is clearance around ejector pins showned? 


9. Are there sufficient ejector pins  ? 


10. Does part stay on the ejector side?


11. Do the leader pins enter before parting lines  or slides make contact?






F.   Cooling 


1. Do water lines break into inserts,ejector  pins,or screw hole? 


2.  Do water  course inlets and outlets avoid clamping area?


3.  Are any water lines  closer than 3 mm from an ejector pin? 


4. Is there sufficient cooling to provide optimum processing?


5. Are cooiling patterns uniform in multi-cavity  molds? 


6. Do large slides and lifters have sufficient cooling?  


7. Are water lines closer than 30mm center to center? 


8. Are water fittings recessed in the mold? 


9. Has provisions to cool large cores been made? 


10. Does Water connector meet customer's specification? 


11. Does "O" ring design resonably?






G.   Slider


1. Is there enough travel? 


2.Is there proper guiding and positioning? 


3. Is there wear plate?


4. Microswitches on slides with Hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder?



5. Telescoping lock if required? 


6. Are slide gibs designed with 2 dowels each?  


7. Is lock angle greater(2°) than pull pin angle?   



8.  Different steel and  hardness selection? 






H.  Lifter  


1. Enough stroke?


2. Proper guide and positioning? 


3. Different steel and hardness selection? 


4. Is the long lifter strong enough?   






I.   Venting 


1.Are runner vent shown?


2. Are vents provided around the part?
