Performance:

1) Corrosion resistance

Corrosion resistance is better than 304 stainless steel, in the pulp and paper production process has a good corrosion resistance. And 316 stainless steel is also resistant to erosion of marine and erosive industrial atmospheres.

2) Heat resistance

Heavy stainless steel (06Cr17Ni12Mo2) has good oxidation resistance for intermittent use below 871 ° C (1600 ° F) and continuous use above 927 ° C (1700 ° F). It is best not to use 316 stainless steel in the range of 427 ° C to 857 ° C (800 ° F to 1575 ° F), but the stainless steel has good heat resistance when continuous use of 316 stainless steel outside this temperature range. 316L stainless steel resistance to carbide precipitation better than 316 stainless steel, available above the temperature range.

3) Heat treatment

Annealed at 850-1050 ° C and then rapidly annealed and then cooled rapidly. 316 stainless steel can not be hardened by heat treatment.

4) welding

316 stainless steel has good welding performance. All standard welding methods can be used for welding. Welding can be used according to the use of 316Cb, 316L or 309Cb stainless steel filler rod or welding electrodes. For optimum corrosion resistance, 316 stainless steel welded sections require post-weld annealing. If 316L stainless steel is used, no post-weld annealing is required
